Why choose a steel-look aluminium door for a property development?

The sturdy nature of steel-look aluminium doors means that a property has plenty of protection from the outside world, making them a popular durable door material. The best aluminium doors are stylish and sleek, with plenty of design and frame options to suit your specific property development. Additionally, aluminium commercial doors are energy efficient, preventing heat loss and providing environmental benefits.

Steel framed doors were once a hugely popular option, but given their cost and availability, aluminium is becoming more and more popular for achieving this look and serving this function. Aluminium alternatives are now offering all the benefits of steel – slim sightlines, large maximum sizes and styling, with exceptional durability at a fraction of the lead time and cost.

Aluminium doors tend to be more secure than options such as uPVC, have slimmer sightlines as well as being more durable and environmentally friendly. Not only that, but you also have more flexibility in design. In comparison to timber, aluminium offers a more modern look and increased durability.

Is a supply and installation service worth it?

Installing patio doors as part of a commercial project can be time-consuming – particularly when you have more important elements of a construction project to focus on. Origin offers more than just supplying aluminium doors - we can arrange both the supply and installation for you as part of our commercial offering, through us partnering with a local installation specialist to complete this service for you. If you've got multiple developments, you're renovating a non-residential building or you have a complex project that needs specialised patio doors installation, having a door specialist on hand can be a huge relief.

Opting for a complete service offering can also ensure you get expert help with ensuring the door meets the correct regulations and standards for a specific type of building. A supplier will also often help you specify the correct door for your needs.

What colour options are steel-look aluminium doors available in?

Our aluminium is coated with the highest-grade powder available. Applied using an electrostatic process after a special pre-treatment, it is then cured at 200°C to form a robust coating that is tougher than conventional paint, whilst maintaining a completely smooth surface.

The powder coat finish is extremely hardwearing, making the frame resistant to scratches, and unlikely to experience any colour fading. This level of quality ensures optimum longevity and is just one reason why many of our doors come with a 20-year guarantee.

The colour you choose for your property development will depend on numerous factors, such as the style of your property development, and whether you want the door to match the existing door colours.

We offer a choice of over 150 RAL colours but many of our customers prefer to stick to the more familiar choices of:

  • White
  • Grey
  • Black.

The popularity of these shades is due to their ability to complement dominant colours around the home. They offer a timeless appeal that will remain despite redecoration and changing trends. If you are unsure on which colour to choose for your development – choosing a neutral colour such as white or black can be a safe option.

Different colours of aluminium doors

If, however, you are looking for brighter colours such as pastel colours – we offer a vast 150 different colour options to choose from. We invest significantly in high stock levels in our most popular colours, and this means that if you wanted a door or window in one of these, you will benefit from receiving it on a never-seen-before lead time.

Researching the supplier – what to consider

Concern for environmental aspects

If environmental aspects are important to you in regard to your property development, it makes sense to pick a commercial patio door supplier that also takes an eco-friendly approach. Find out what a supplier does to ensure its business is as environmentally friendly as possible, from the materials it uses and sources to its disposal methods.

Good communication

Developing commercial buildings or large-scale developments requires juggling many aspects and often involves lots of different trades, so it can make life a lot easier for developers if they're dealing with a business that provides excellent communication.

Great customer service

As well as providing effective and timely communication, look for a commercial window and door supplier that offers unrivalled customer service and has a good reputation in the industry.
